GROSS MOTOR

This group is designed to work the core body – Torso, Legs & Arms by engaging the Large Muscles and the neurological system. This group will include running, climbing, throwing, ball kicking, catching with a focus on co-ordination, strength and movement training.

FINE MOTOR

This group will focus on training the small muscles in hands, fingers and wrists to improve control and strength to perform everyday tasks better.  This group will encourage fine motor skills through various fun activities such as building with lego/duplo, craft with scissors, beading, and more.  This group is perfect for those who have goals to be able to button, open lunch boxes, tie shoelaces etc, as the fine motor activities are all interrelated.

ART THERAPY

With the use of various art materials our Art Therapy Group will create several beautiful works of art that show off each individuals unique ideas and creativity. Through conversation and art expression group attendees will be building skills in how to explore emotions, reduce anxiety, increase self-esteem, and resolve other psychological conflicts. 

SOCIAL SKILLS / EMOTIONAL REGULATION GAMES

Our FUN GAMES based Social Skills Group will provide essential practice of social and emotional regulation and behaviour in a supportive environment. We will be developing social skills in a social environment! This group will focus on: choosing appropriate emotional reactions and feelings, learning the importance of self-problem solving, taking turns, compromise, negotiation, teamwork, and how to keep and make friends.

ANIMAL CARE

It Can Be Emotionally Rewarding To Care For And Spend Time With An Animal.

The Health Hub Belmont has a farm-like environment where we care for various animals on-site. This group allows our attendees to become the carers of our Belmont animals – TurtlesDucksChickensDogs and Alpacas. Our Animal Care Group aims to promote positive emotionssupport the development of expression and empathic skills, improve social skills, boost confidence, and reduce anxiety.

DIY WORKSHOP

Our unique clinic location of Belmont allows us to break free of traditional therapy!

Keep your hands and minds busy with a DIY Workshop. This workshop involves building and creating items (planter box, bench, etc). The DIY workshop will focus on Social Skills, Fine Motor Skills, Gross Motor Skills, Taking Turns, Practical Thinking and Planning, and more. Be involved in the creative process from start to finish and walk away with your own CREATION. Suitable for all ages.

COOKING WITH CHEWY, CHINO & THE HEALTH HUB ANIMALS

Chickens, Turtles, Ducks, Alpacas and more.

 

This holiday program will incorporate some farm-like cooking and interactive animal visits.  We will focus on Daily Living Skills, Social Skills, Animal Care, Team Work, Following Instructions, Taking Turns, and more. 

GARDENING

This group will use the skill and enjoyment of gardening to promote movement and coordination, social skills, and positive mental health. The body movements required in gardening also allow for fine and gross motor skill development.

To achieve therapy goals through gardening, attendees will participate in activities such as planning a gardenunderstanding and using toolsplantingcaring forcompostingharvesting, and presenting the harvest in pots / vases, making or decorating presentation ideas. This group is suitable for all ages and will run at various times with attendees matched in age and skill level.

MINECRAFT

An Opportunity For Pre-Teens To Develop Fine Motor & Social Skills Required For Independent Self-Care – Through Minecraft Inspired Group Activities.

NINJA WARRIOR SPORTS

An active group for children to improve their social skills, ability to work in teams, focus and follow instructions.

This group incorporates various sports to deliver a therapy group that is full of action.

Have your child start their prep schooling with the strategies they need to do their personal best.

This group is designed to simulate a real school morning

Beneficial to kindergarten students who may struggle with all or any of – separation anxiety, listening/attentiveness, fine and gross motor skills, pre-literacy and language skills, group skills, social skills, emotional regulation.

Suitable for children with diagnosed/undiagnosed learning difficulties.

BEAUTY, FASHION & STYLE

Utilize Positive, Supportive Self-Talk and build Self-Esteem and Confidence – while be engaged in beauty, fashion and style.


This group will encourage participants to try new things. When we try new things, face challenges and navigate consequences and success we grow as people. Self-Esteem and Confidence is an important part of child development.

RAMSR - RHYTHM & MOVEMENT FOR SELF-REGULATION

This group will deliver the RAMSR Therapy Program.

This program aims to help young children manage self-regulation of their emotions, attention and behaviour by using rhythm and music. RAMSR (Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation) aims to support a childs attentional and emotional regulation skills, as well as mental flexibility, inhibition, and working memory (the executive functions).

ESSENTIAL SKILLS FOR PLAYGROUND PARTICIPATION

An ideal group for clumsiness and lack of confidence, this group will encourage an ‘I CAN DO IT’ attitude towards challenging, balance & coordination activities.

Have your child – decrease playground anxiety & increase confidence so that they can play confidently and stop avoiding the fun of playgrounds.

This group will touch on paediatric physiotherapy areas of – sensory challenges, increasing coordination & balance.

TWIST & SHOUT - PAEDIATRIC PHYSIOTHERAPY

This group has a focus on motor development – low muscle tone, strength, endurance, coordination, balance, and stability. 

Participants will use core muscles during play, song, and games-based activities whilst simultaneously using brain & voices (cognitive abilities) to work on thinking and breathing while being active.

MOVE THINK & DO AT THE SAME TIME

Thinking and remembering to breathe properly while being active can be tricky and it is an important skill for children to learn so they can participate wholly in activities like play & sport. 

MUMS N BUBS

Our Mums and Bubs Group is designed to provide therapy based informationtechnique demonstration and hands on assistance for mothers and carers of babies 0-2. In this group our Paediatric Physiotherapist will discuss developmental stages and assist with common concerns.

BUILDING CORE STRENGTH THOUGHT PAEDIATRIC PHYSIOTHERAPY

Does your child find daily schooling exhausting?

Do they slouch, have handwriting fatigue or opt out of extracurricular activities due to lack of energy after a day / week at school?

Have 2020-2021 changes in on/off activity – schooling from home / community sport cancellation had an effect on interest in participation and or mental fatigue leading to physical fatigue?

This group is designed to build and or re-build those core strengths and ultimately decrease fatigue and increase energy.

ALL ABOUT TEEN GIRLS!

The mind and body transition during teenage years can be complex, confronting and confusing.

In this group teen girls will be provided the opportunity to work on social and emotional wellbeing, identity, how to self-check choices – friends, fashion, makeup, partners and learn/discuss the basics and not so basic of being a teen girl in today’s world. Suitable for girls aged 13-16
